In der Aufnahmestelle für Asylbewerber*innen und Geflüchtete in der Lindenstraße in Bremen-Vegesack leben viele Menschen auf engem Raum zusammen. Das sind Zustände, die in der jetzigen Coronakrise zu einer unkontrollierbaren Ausbreitung des Virus führen können. Von dem Sozialressort sind bereits besonders gefährdete Menschen, das heißt solche mit Vorerkrankungen oder ältere, in andere Unterkünfte gebracht worden, was wir begrüßen. Der erste Corona-Fall in dieser Einrichtung wurde aber leider bestätigt.
Auch deshalb sind wir als Grüne Jugend Bremen der Meinung, dass die Gesamtsituation vor Ort weiter verbessert werden muss. Der Großteil der Menschen soll auf kleinere Wohnheime mit freien Plätzen, Jugendherbergen und ähnliche Einrichtungen verteilt werden. Das heißt, dass auch gesunde, weniger gefährdete Personen die Möglichkeit haben, irgendwo anders unterzukommen. Dies soll zu einer Entspannung der Situation führen. Unsere Sprecherin Stina Reichardt fordert: „Das Aufnahmezentrum muss so weit wie möglich entlastet werden. Es muss den Menschen möglich sein, sich selbst durch Physical Distancing vor dem Virus zu schützen.“ Alle notwendigen hygienischen Standards müssen eingehalten werden.
Uns ist bewusst, dass die Planung beziehungsweise Findung anderweitiger Unterkünfte nicht so schnell geht, wie man sich das wünscht, auch aufgrund der knappen Personallage im Sozialressort. Ebenso wissen wir, dass die Verantwortlichen schon einiges tun, um die Situation zu verbessern. Zum Beispiel werden, um die Ansteckungsgefahr zu reduzieren, Menschen, die in diesen Tagen neu in die Einrichtung kommen, erst einmal für 14 Tage von den anderen Menschen isoliert. Uns erreichen aber auch anderweitige Berichte bezüglich der hygienischen Lage, etwa, dass die Isolation der neu angekommenen Menschen nicht so strikt durchgehalten wird, wie es wünschenswert wäre.
In dieser Situation ist eine komplette Auflösung der Aufnahmestelle in der Lindenstraße aus unserer Sicht unvorteilhaft, da die Einrichtung der Lindenstraße auch Vorteile hat, wie etwa die Anwesenheit von Ärzt*innen des Gesundheitsamtes. Auf die Ressourcen der Lindenstraße können wir nicht verzichten, wenn Bremen Menschen aus dem Flüchtlingslager Moria auf Lesbos aufnehmen will.
Es können gesondert Plätze für Menschen bereitgehalten werden, die aus den griechischen Flüchtlingslagern evakuiert werden. Unter dem Motto #leavenoonebehind fordern viele Gruppen und Bündnisse eine Evakuierung dieser Flüchtlingslager aufgrund der inhumanen Lebensumstände vor Ort. Auch dort wurden die ersten Corona-Fälle bestätigt, was die Problematik noch einmal deutlich verstärkt. Das Bundesland Bremen setzt sich auch schon für eine derartige Aktion ein. Unsere Sprecherin Charlotte Grupp meint: „Wir schließen uns der Forderung #leavenoonebehind an und fordern eine schnellstmögliche Evakuierung von Moria und eine Beteiligung bei der Aufnahme durch das Bundesland Bremen!“
Wir bitten unbedingt um eine sachliche Diskussion zu dem Thema und verbitten uns jede Form der Hetze und Beleidigung gegen Menschen und Institutionen. Es kann nicht sein, dass Menschen, die sich für andere Menschen einsetzen, wegen ihrer Arbeit bedroht werden!
Wir sind der Auffassung, dass eine schnelle Verteilung der Menschen auf weitere Unterbringungsmöglichkeiten dringend notwendig ist und hygienische Maßnahmen konsequent umgesetzt werden müssen. Es muss alles Nötige getan werden, um die Menschen in der Zentralen Aufnahmestelle für Asylbewerber*innen und Geflüchtete (ZAST) vor einer Ansteckung mit Covid-19 zu schützen, und das so schnell wie möglich.
The arrival centre for asylum seekers and refugees in the Lindenstraße in Bremen-Vegesack is a place were a lot of people live on confined space. These conditions could lead to a spread of the coronavirus beyond control. We approve that the social department of Bremen already transferred people at very high risk, meaning people with pre-existing illness and the elderly, to other accommodations. Unfortunately, the first case of an infection with the coronavirus has been confirmed.
Therefore, we, the Green Youth Bremen, are of the opinion that the overall situation needs further improvement. The majority of people should get the chance to stay in smaller accommodations with free spaces, such as youth hostels and similar facilities. In other words, also healthy and less risked people should get the possibility to find shelter somewhere else. Our spokeswoman Stina Reichardt demands: „The arrival centre has to get as much relieve as possible. Everybody must have the chance to protect themselves from infection by physical distancing.“ All needed standards of hygiene must be kept.
We are aware of the fact that the planning and finding of suitable accommodations is not possible as fast as it would be desirable, also due to the amount of staff that is available in the social department. Further, we know that the people in authority are already doing several things to improve the total situation. For example, a 14-days isolation is set for all newly arriving people to reduce the risk of infection. But we are also receiving opposing reports regarding the state of hygiene, telling for example that the isolation of new people is not happening as strict as it should.
We are of the opinion that a total closure of the centre would not be the ultimate solution in the current situation, since for example the presence of physicians from the public health department is an advantage. We cannot go without the resources present at Lindenstraße if Bremen wants to give shelter to the people from the refugee camp Moria on Lesbos.
Separate spaces for people evacuated from the Greek camps should be kept available. Under the slogan #leavenoonebehind, a lot of groups and organizations demand the evacuation of those refugee camps only providing inhuman living conditions. With the confirmation of first cases of corona infection in the camp, the situation is getting even worse.. The state of Bremen is already active in those activities. Our spokeswoman Charlotte Grupp says: „We support the demand #leavenoonebehind and call for a fast evacuation of Moria. The state of Bremen has to be involved in providing shelter for the people in the camps!“
We ask everyone to stick to facts in the discussion of this topic and refuse to tolerate any kind of hustle and insults against people and institutions. It cannot be tolerated that people that support others causes are threatened due to their work!
We are of the opinion that a fast distribution of people to other accommodations is urgent and sticking to standards of hygiene is essential. Everything necessary to protect people from infection with Covid-19 in the arrival centre for asylum seekers and refugees (ZAST) in Bremen-Vegesack has to be done – and this as soon as possible.
